THE NEWS

Schedule Changes

As we get ready for this new school year, please be aware of the following information regarding the class schedules. Based on the course requests from last spring, every effort was made in the development of the master schedule to first and foremost meet the needs of our students.  Yet, not all student requests for specific schedules could be met.

Schedule Change Day will be held on the following days and time at the counseling office:

  • Juniors - Wednesday, 8/20 8 - 10 am
  • Seniors - Wednesday, 8/20 10 - 12 pm
  • Sophomores - Thursday, 8/21 8 - 10 am
  • Freshman - Thursday, 8/21 10 - 12 pm

These days are intended to assist students who have mistakes on their schedules, such as an incorrect grade level for English, no history class, or two math classes and no science.  We will not make schedule changes based on a request for a different teacher or to adjust the periods in a student's schedule.

Although we have every available zero period class being offered, there was still far greater demand for zero period classes than we have space available.  Additionally, we could not accommodate all requests for no classes in the afternoon (period 3 and/or 6).  If your student had requested a zero period or no class period 3/6 but did not receive a zero period or has been scheduled for a 3rd or 6th period, please do not attempt to come to schedule change day on Wednesday and Thursday.  Your student is welcome to check with their counselor after the first day of school regarding availability for adjusting the periods in their schedule, but given the current numbers in classes, it is unlikely that we will be able to accommodate such requests.

We look forward to working with your students for a successful school year, and we appreciate your respect and understanding regarding the above information.

Sincerely,

Dr. Charles Park                    Mrs. Trista Ramirez
