Check NAVIANCE for the schedule of admission representatives visiting
PVHS and sign up for colleges of interest. If you cannot attend a
specific visit, fill out an interest card in the College & Career Center for
the college representative.

Know your Early Admission deadlines! Early Decision and Early Action
deadlines are typically November 1st or 15th. Don't miss your deadlines.
University of California (UC) application filing period is from
November 1-30. Don't wait until the last minute to file!
December
Finalize any college applications with a January deadline.
Prepare your application for Financial Aid by applying for your FAFSA
Personal ID Number (PIN). Follow the link to the official FAFSA PIN
request.
Know if any college you are applying requires the CSS profile for
financial aid. Follow the link to the CSS Profile.
Talk to former PVHS students attending college on one of the Alumni
Day events held in December and January. Check CCC Calendar for date.
January
Begin to fill out and submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal
Student Aid). Attend FAFSA Night sponsored by the CCC if you need
assistance filling out the form.
Start or continue your search for scholarships. Check the scholarship
list on NAVIANCE for community scholarships weekly as it changes with
new additions. Stop in the CCC for questions and access to
Scholarship books.
Talk to your counselor or the CCC about qualifications and applications
for a Cal Grant (financial aid).
Send in your mid-year reports including your seventh semester
transcript, if needed.
Check to make sure all applications were received (email receipts) and
don't panic!
February - March
Decisions (rolling admission offers) begin to arrive!
Keep up your grades! You will need to submit your final grades to the
college of your choice. Colleges can rescind your admission if you do
not maintain your grade point average.
If there are changes in your academic courses or extra curricular
program since your initial application, you must notify your colleges.
Stay on top of financial aid deadlines. FAFSA is due in March.
Check your email for communications from colleges, especially those
regarding incomplete applications or missing information. Respond
quickly to any requests.
April
April 1 acceptances arrive! Analyze your acceptances and financial aid
packages carefully to determine what is the best match for you.
Decisions and deposits are due by May 1 to the college of your choice.
Follow the instructions on your acceptance letter. Note any special
procedures for housing.
Notify colleges you are turning down of your decision.
May
Don't be late.
May 1st is the deadline to notify the college of your choice.
Order your final high school transcript to be sent to the college of your
choice. Read procedures for ordering your transcript.
