All 10th grade students will take the PLAN (ACT) test on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. as part of College Day. There is no need to register. Sophomores should report to assigned classroom by 8:00. Sophomore room assignments will be posted here and in front of the library.
PLAN is a 3 hour 10 minute test that is 10th grade curriculum appropriate. It is scored on a 32 point scale (The full ACT is 36 points). PLAN measures English, math, reading and science. It is a powerful predictor of success on the ACT and an early indicator of College readiness. There is no score penalty for a wrong answer. PLAN also contains a UNIACT interest inventory that helps students explore personally relevant career options and the Educational Opportunity Service that links students with relevant College and scholarships based on their PLAN information. Scores are not reported to Colleges.
PLAN scores will be returned in January 2011. A representative from ACT will conduct a “Score Give-Back Night” Watch for announcements and the master calendar for details.
The PLAN is an optional assessment test for 10th graders that provides information to help plan for their future. Results of the PLAN are not used by Colleges, but offer students an estimated ACT score and connects the student to information about College and financial aid choices.
Parents or students who would like more information about the PLAN can check out a sample test at www.planstudent.org.
Individual questions about testing should be addressed to your counselor. |
