Testing Schedule 2010-11

PSAT will be given to all PVHS Juniors on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 8:00 a.m.   There is no need to register. This is a regular school day and attendance is mandatory. Juniors should report to their assigned classroom by 8:00 a.m. Junior room assignments will be posted here and near the CCC (room 318).

The PSAT/NMSQT is a preliminary SAT and also the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test provided by The College Board. (Only 11th grade scores are considered for National Merit honors). It is a 2 hour 45 minute test consisting of three sections: Critical Reading, Mathematics and Writing Skills. It is scored on an 80 point scale and measures the same skills in the same format as the SAT. Scores are not reported to colleges but College Board participates in the Student Search Service that links students with participating colleges based on their PSAT information.

PSAT/NMSQT Score Give-Back Night will be held on December 15 at 6:30 p.m. Location @ PVHS to be announced.

The PSAT is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship (NMSQT). Juniors who take the PSAT are eligible to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship.
